Chapter One

I so have to laugh! This is a scene in my book! Only without the catz.

If you're not addicted to Icanhascheezburger, you are not the cat's meow.

Lots o' words today. Sleepy. Bed. One cat. No dog. I'll see you tomorrow, but whether or not you'll see me remains to be. . .seen.

G'night, sweet writers and readers.

Hello and good night, Nancy! It's past time for me to be sackin' it here.

Good morning Nancy and FAR.

I have a feeling you are both asleep at the moment.

Nancy the picture reminds me of George and Cat here. Although when Cat has had enough, George does have enough sense to back off.

We're at a crisp 28F here this morning. It'll be sunny today and I think we'll be up in the 50's.

Hope everyone has a good day today and stay warm.

Anybody else awake?

AndiF said...

I am. And ready for a half-day of BCROD and then heading home. And very much, looking forward to telling Sniff [LINK] to share the couch with me.

Hi, Andy. It doesn't seem right for you to be awake so early, but with no dogs to take outside.

I'm going to try going back to bed now. I got some things done, though. I woke up worried about a meeting I have to lead, but now I think it's going to be okay.

Yawn.

I may not be the cat's meow, but I often sit in the catbird seat with Sydney, my cockateil, whose feeling much better after twisting a claw a few days ago.

Ya, know. This work stuff sure puts a crimp in your writing life.

Forward into the paper madness.

WTF. It's 21 degrees outside. I thought winter was over. I've got daffodils, tulips, and reticula irises (ground hugging spring iris) that are shivering while waiting for the warming sun.

Coffee's brewing and I'm making scramble eggs...no doughnuts today.

Y'all have a great day.

43 here now, heading up to 63. Locals have their long johns on. And I'm having lunch with Lorin and Brenda, for any of you lucky enough to know these wonderful women. We'll raise a margarita in your direction!

Stay warm, everyone - it's almost Friday!

Hello and good morning, all.

22 sunny degrees here and I'm good with that, because SUN!!

Although, my cheer is becoming serious cranky due to the construction guys outside. They started with the extreme loudness about 15 minutes ago. Sigh.

Oh well, I'm off to the salt mines in about 15.

Happy Thursday!

Morning all.

Yay for Andi's homecoming.

Beth, we've got -24F ... brrrrr! I'll take 43 if you want to trade ... hehe :)

olivia said...

Maria - I'll even take the 22 if you would like to trade ... :D

G'mornin' all.

Have a good safe trip home, Andi! I love those pictures of Sniff sprawled out on the couch, so adorable.

Dayton weather report: 5 degrees with the wind chill and we won't go over freezing today, more snow tomorrow. ::beach baby cries::

Bottomed out in the low 20s (F) last night, and is supposed to work its way toward 50. It's supposed to be nice this weekend though.

Working at home today, so no playing in traffic for me! Or if I do, it will be long past rush hour.

I have my marching orders for the day, so to speak. It'll be interesting to see if it actually gets done.

g'day all,

Nancy, that site made me howl. Before I got my 18 pound wussy boy cat a person told me: "Don't bother with cats, they have no personality."

Yeah, right. If only that were true, I wouldn't have to spend every night with 18 pounds on my feet. If I shut him outside the bedroom, the cat runs at the door, launches himself so he hits it about 3 feet up. Whomp, whomp, whomp.

Nancy P said...

Conda, your story's bound to be my best laugh of the day! My former sister- and brother-in-law had a cat like that. Named Gus. One night people came to dinner, one of them a woman who was terrified of cats. Meaning to be kind, my s-i-l put Gus in the basement and closed the door. All evening long, Gus hurled himself at that door like a cat from the bowels of hell. I doubt that poor woman ate a bite!

Hi, far, family man, rick, maria, beth, rick, oliva, and jen. One of these days I'll actually be able to stop and write individual replies to you, as you deserve. Meanwhile, it's so nice to see ALL of you--from my invisible perch in the invisible tree.

I just have to give a shout-out to the two people who clicked in here from way down in the southern tip of Africa. Is this an amazing century, or what?

Morning all...(cat pulls on sleeve, points at clock)...OK, afternoon all. Procrastination today. Editing needs happen but...don wanna. Sigh. Better stop pouting and get that done, huh? TTFN.

Editing needs happen

I guess so! lol.

Cat pulling on my sleeve, too.
bye. writing needs happen

Hello all. I'm pleased that Andi didn't tell you all about any doubts she had about our dinner adventure. But she knows that when I say "trust me" I'm pretty trustworthy.

AndiF said...

Hi honies, I'm home.

Amazing insight of the day: that drive is just as boring going east as it is going west.

Mary, I've eaten enough meals with you by now to know that your gastronomic instincts are eminently reliable. :)

Anonymous said...

Glad you survived the BCROD and the drive, andi. You've earned a weekend of pure hedonism by the woodstove!

Had a grest lunch with Lorin and Brenda - they send their love to all, and hope to see you at BONI or WRW soon. Now I'm giddy from talking writing, so I'm going to go do some! Happy Thursday, all.

Anonymous said...

I'm so giddy I can't spell 'great'...

Anonymous said...

Andi - glad you made it home. Yes, very boring. BUT, going east you get a better view at the religious truckstop with the gigantic cross right before Effingham. :)

AndiF said...

I think the cross looks pretty much the same either direction. As huge landmarks go, though, I find it really inferior to the monster tire on I-94 in Detroit.

AndiF said...

Sorry Beth -- I didn't mean to ignore you. I just got all wrapped up in thinking about the giant tire.

Anonymous said...

No worries, andi! I can imagine it would be distracting. There's a water tower painted to look like a peach on one of the interstates I travel, and I swear it looks like a giant butt. I almost run off the road every time I see it!

Kelly McCullough said...

Editing happened. More needs happen tomorrow. In the meantime.

Dat cat iz pritty smart.

A scene from your book? (sans catz) Hmm. Tell us more, Nancy.

Larry Kollar said...

Eesh, if I'm going to get some more writing done, I gotta stop surfing! :-D

Sounds like the rest of you had a productive day though! (I had a mildly productive one, for the day job anyway.)

Family Man said...

Andi I'm glad to see you got back home safely. From the sounds of your drive back it sounds more boring up there than I thought it would be. :P

I'm glad everybody was productive today. I didn't get in my number of alloted naps today, so I guess I was a little productive.
