Hey Katiebird thanks for the tornado warning info. I figured that's what they were.
Here. We hear sirens all the time. We're almost de-sensitized to it. We're a block from the firehouse. Plus... it is urburbia. Sirens are apart of life.
BUT>... there's something similar along Seaside, OR and Cannon Beach. Sirens for Tsunami Alerts. Along with Evac routes.
Nancy, I can't WAIT for you to get back. Maybe we could.... meetUP?
Janet, I thought of something I wanted to ask you (nutrition, I think) in the middle of a dream but, I didn't get up and ask it. Now I can't remember. :(
The library I used to work at was across the street for the fire station and we heard sirens all the time. They built Condos out of the old Police Station that was joined to it. No one realized how annoying the sirens would be to the tenants until people started moving in!
Morning Andi, best friend must have sensed my vibes. She called and we went out to dinner last night. Playing in the surf and kicking at the waves (Metaphorically speaking)this morning. Hubby goes camping so looking forward to quiet time tomorrow and Sunday morning. Cross fingers he doesn't get selected as juror for capital murder trial.
Thanks, Janet! Hugs felt good, esp. since I woke up at 3 with the realization that I have two conflicts on my calendar. Damn, I still haven't managed being in two places at one time.
Kb, I'd LOVE to meet up, but damned if I know when it can be. I'm only home for three days, then traveling off an on for two and a half weeks. I swear I don't know how politicians do it!
Hey, Andi, Lisa, and Jen. Sally's porch is gonna have to warm up first, but then I'm On it.
I was just at your schedule of appearances to see where you were going -- is there any acre of Kansas you aren't going to see this year? -- and saw this: October 15-18, Bouchercon, Indianapolis. Please tell me you'll have some free time for me. And maybe we can entice Jen to come over, too. :)
I know where Maria's coming from. I'm keeping up with my to-do list, with only two items both incomplete and not hung waiting for someone. Grab lunch & head for the mimes…
It's so nice to sit in front of a warm firebox again.
It's on my calendar Nancy! I hope everything works out Jen. And if you came, Mary ... well that would be the fresh blueberries in the scone (I don't like icing so no cake metaphors).
Laptop is back, and the S and D keys now have letters on them again. But I can't hang onto a signal - hopefully it's the network and not something they did at the Apple store. We'll see...
Welcome home, Nancy, and enjoy being off the road for a day or two.
No sirens out here in the FL wilderness. Lots of frogs, though.
Hope the weekend goes well for everyone - I have a couple of Parrothead meetings, so hopefully will meet some interesting people there. Otherwise starting the rewrite, now that my laptop's back.
Happy days are here again, the weekend's here let's cheer again.
Are you hosting an Oscar party here Sunday? I'm looking forward to watching. I'm torn between Milk and The Reader. I'm hoping Kate and Sean win their categories.
Glad you received a lifeline, Lisa.
Hey, Ohio has libraries, bookstores, readers and stuff. Just sayin'.

I'm ready to go home. Probably because I AM going home tomorrow. Which may be today by the time you read this.

Hey, what's with all the sirens, they woke me up ... but they sounded strangely distant.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip home, Nancy.
Lisa, hang on ... the weekend's almost here.
Morning all.
Home for the weekend--Yeah, Nancy.

Fabulous Friday to All.
Nancy, I bet Sally's porch is really missing you right about now, safe travels and sweet homecomings.

Morning, gang and welcome home, Nancy!
I'm off to the mimes early today, same unspeakable project that is causing such stress. :( Wish me well, guys!
::waves at those of you that are here::

maybe we can entice Jen
If my health allows, I'm there!
Andi and Jen, YES!!! I'd love that so much!
Morning, Maria and Far, and good luck at the mimes.
Who, around here, invented "mimes"? Was that Maria? It think it was. We need to have our sources right for our ASMoL dictionary.
Hey - St. Louis in October for The Big Read? Let me know when (no dates on your calendar).
Although ... Indy isn't that far ...

Back to the mimes... that was my mix up. :)

Enjoy the weekend.
Happy travels, Nancy. I hope that you make it home soon.
We had snow here, again. Thankfully it wasn't too much.
I made a 3 day weekend and had a father/son day. Every weekend should have 3 days.
Along Comes Mary!!! Oh, that would be grand, Maryb. Fingers crossed for all of you to be there.
