Laura and I just crawled out of the hot tub, where we were toasting the holiday with hard cider and mead. It was gorgeous, 14 degrees and crystal clear and still, just warm enough so your feet don't freeze to the deck. The folks across the lake had a big old bonfire that we watched, lovely. Now Laura's doing a puzzle and I'm going to be reading just as soon as I finish topping up the tub for tomorrow morning.
Hi Nancy and Kelly -- I had a good time, but Nancy & Kelly -- You've opened my eyes to new possibilities.
Still this year was a change for us. Our daughter was with us for Thanksgiving Dinner: The first time EVER any of the kids have EVER had Thanksgiving Dinner with us. And the first time we've ever even SEEN her on Thanksgiving Day.
And her mother only called twice. So I think it was a pretty successful experiment. :)
Maybe next year, we'll go to a lodge and have pizza in a hot tub...
Late as usual, but I’ve got pictures! I’ve figured it out: if I make a triple batch of Parker House rolls, there will be some left over afterwards. Valuable info.

Ours was quiet, comfortable, filling, and nice. The pizza had "meat product" in it, though. Puhleeze do not tell me what that might have been. :)
I must now go get another piece of pumpkin pie so that I won't have to squirt whipped cream directly onto a plate.

Ah, Kelly, that sounds lovely. When you said "lodge," earlier, did you mean a commercial one or a private one?
Private, Laura's parents' lake place.

That's great KB. I'm going to toddle off now. Hope you and Nancy both have a nice rest of the evening.
Night, Kelly.
KB, that's really something--all those years. I'm so glad it went well. I'll be you and the Mister are whewing.
Yes, A big Whew, pretty much sums it up. We've finished cleaning up. And now I'm working on websites.
What are you doing for the rest of the weekend?
For the rest of the weekend? Not eating. You free for coffee some time tomorrow?
Sure!! That sounds fun. I'll send you an 'e.
Gnight, Sweet Bloggers.

I like the hot tub and pizza idea though!
