Silent except for the buzzing of insects, of course. And Andi's camera clicking. And the dogs sniffing.

I'm experimenting with posting photos and stuff. Getting the hang of this blog contraption.

It's very nice -- Magical and pretty.

And you're doing very well. At least YOUR lost posts come back. That's a trick I'd like to learn.

The color's lovely, isn't it?

I can hear a frog splash. I hope it wasn't Andi falling in.

I AM doing well, aren't I? Preen and twirl.

Now you've got me worried about Andi, but if she fell in, I'm sure she's dressed for it.

Since it's past her bedtime though, we won't know for sure until morning.

I'd love to actually SEE you preen & twirl sometime.

I love that! Such a pretty dress. Is that you?

I saved it for using sometime to illustrate Preen & Twirl. :) If I ever use it and forget I got it form you, PLEASE remind me.

I'm going to go read a, what do you call it, BOOK now, but I'll be around now and then, for awhile.

No, no -- don't credit me. PLEASE. I totally stole it. I found it through google. And it wasn't easy. There are no photos of people preening. Only twirling.

It's VERY nice of you to think that's me. I wish.

"No photos of people preening."

lol, but I'll bet there are. Like a certain person on an aircraft carrier, with a big banner above him.

Okay, now I really am off to read. Or maybe take a walk. Or read and walk?

Sounds fun. I'm winding down too. Our shows almost over and I'll be off and on for a while myself.

I have to rest up for Harrah's Lucky Break.

Someone found a Preening and Twirling after looking through 40 google pages.

Morning all.

And thanks for the compliments but what I want is for someone to come up with an explanation for the tennis balls.

Hi Nancy - I'm a recent WRW grad, and have been checking your blog since Jason sent out the link. AND I'm reading Virgin of Small Plains, so am enjoying your daily thoughts. I often try to explain the magic that happens when characters take off on their own, but it's a concept that non-writers just don't get. Anyway, good morning and thanks for the insights and the pictures!! Looking forward to meeting you one of these days. Beth

Hi, boran2 and andif, and welcome Beth!

I just got up (!) and am perking coffee, so my typing fingers are not yet connected to my brain. Back soon. ish.

Andi, somebody left the tennis ball there for your dogs.

Beth, I hope you had a great and productive time at WRW. (Writers Retreat Workshop, which is a week of writing on your own, learning from experts, and being fed delicious food that you don't have to fix, yourself.)
