The Writing Porch

If it's Saturday, it must be time to go to Sally's house to Parallel Write with her. But how did one of Margaret Maron's pink plastic flamingos get in the picture?

It's 1:30 in the morning and the only reason for this is the game I've been playing.

What's on your agenda for the weekend?

What game was that, Nancy? Freecell will tie me to the computer for hours. Are you awake yet? :-)

I LOVE that porch! Color me jealous. Have a great writing day, inspired by Ms. Flamingo.

I'll be on the couch writing and watching football this weekend. Not quite as aesthetically satisfying, but still a great way to spend a weekend.

So far, I've spent this morning adding my literary attorney's revisions to my next book contract. (oh the joy of legalese!!)

Later, I'll be traveling up the road a piece for a gathering o'girls as a very good friend of mine is in town.

Somewhere in the day, I need to get some writing done.

I, too, am jealous of the gorgeous porch. ::g::

Enjoy your girlfriends - sounds like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Good luck with the contract!

Today I am in Tampa. Yesterday was a parallel play writing day. I managed to get some new scenes done that I want to add to an existing story.

I also got to read some really entertaining pages of friend's brand new manuscript.

I LOVE writing days. I wish those bummies would wake up so we could go to the coffee shop and write again today.

Hope you have good day on the writing porch, Nancy. And good morning, Beth! And to all those that follow in the comments section. :)

Hi Nancy, Beth and Maria Lima.

Nancy sorry you were up so late, but as long as you were enjoying yourself, what the hay. Parallel writing sounds like it would be fun today, especially at Sally's porch. Hah that sounds like it should be a book or a tv show. :)

Beth enjoy your games today. I'm pretty sure the only one I'll be watching is the Alabama game, but that's on later on tonight.

Maria Lima I hate legalese. I try to stay away from it as much as possible. I hope your day with the friends goes good.

Things around here are about the same. We are all getting over a bit of food poisoning, but everyone is felling better now. I've definitely got to teach my s-i-l how to cook one day. Until then I'll do all the cooking. :)

Hope everyone has a good w/e.

Beth, it was a stupid game where you knock out marbles. Totally impossible to stop playing. Then I still wasn't sleepy and I read until 3:30 (and got up at 10).

What a nice day you're having! Couch, football, writing. . .and who needs a porch when you've got a beach. :)

Ah, Maria, what lovely words. . ."my next book contract." :)

Have fun with da girls!

Hi, Kimberly! So cool you have writing buddies, or writing bummies. :)

Family Man, so good to see you! Food poisoning, oh dear. Or, as I originally typed it, "Fodd poisoning." I think that's what Elmer Fudd gets. I'm glad you all survived, but it must have been some bad bout of it. And, gee, you probably couldn't mow the lawn while you were sick, could you?

Food poisoning, UGH! I've had it too many times. I'd be escorting the sil out of the kitchen too, if that's what she cooks up! But maybe that's her plan...

Kimberly, I'm 1.5 hours south of Tampa - waving at you!! Thanks for bringing the cooler, wetter weather with you.

Fam, I'll root for Alabama for you, since my teams (Syracuse, Idaho and Washington State) are pretty sad this year.

Nancy, I guess knocking out marbles is better than losing them... :-)

Beth, lol!

When I took my car in for repair this week, I told the shop guy, "If you hear marbles a sound like marbles rolling around in the trunk, it's because they *are* marbles." I had spilled some from a vase.

So you carry extra...in case you lose yours? :-) Can I borrow some? I lost mine a loooonnngggg time ago.

Another lol, Beth! Yes, they're my spares--a little the worse for wear by now, though, so you may not want them.

I'm off to the porch, after I vacuum. See you when I get there.

Well, I was going to work on the trim around the house today… but as I told FM, Mrs. Fetched dragooned me into the chicken houses and that pretty well shot half the day. Then we got lunch & groceries, and that was most of the other half. Oh well.

Have a good session on the writing porch! I may have to try that with mine, now that it's not so beastly hot. I'll just have to chase the cat off the keyboard first.

Nancy P said...

Happy w/e to you, too, Olivia!

Far, let me know if you like writing on the porch. We're sitting there now, with a cool breeze (from the fan overhead) and hungry stomachs.

Did anyone bring you food, Nancy? I would, if it wasn't such a long drive!! But only if you'd let me stay and write with you. :-)

Nancy P said...

Such an offer! Beth, you don't even have to bring food, just come and pick a chair. Although. . .we wouldn't stop you if you insist on the food part. :)

Worked hard. Ate a lot. Am pooped.

I hope everybody else's writing/other day went as well.

More of same tomorrow.

Snort!

GhostFolk, LOL!!!

Nancy, I got a little writing done. I only had to shoo Sprite off the keyboard once, but after we watched Over the Hedge, I was having a hard time getting rolling. Not blaming the movie; if I'd been rolling I'd have skipped it.

Nancy P said...

Truer words were never. . ."If I'd been rolling, I'd have skipped it."

Yes, indeedy, far, I know the experience.
