Speaking of Giddy and snow, I took this picture [LINK] just for Beth but then forgot to post it. Hope my malamutt brings back fond memories of your malamute.

I'm delighted to say that the predicted overnight snow in St. Louis didn't appear. I hope it's not just waiting to surprise me when I emerge from the BCROD*.

Morning all.

Good Morning Andi!

It looks like we got some snow. It's still dark, so I can't tell for sure how much -- an inch or so, I'm guessing.

I love the photos -- the one on the post & the one you added in your comment.

Thank you, andi! It does indeed, sniff sniff. My pictures of mine are all prints, stored in Idaho - I'll scan one once I get settled. Giddy looks blissful on his snowbed.

Good luck in the BCROD.

Morning, everyone! Another day -

I owe, I owe!

It's off to work I go.

Grading papers for Measurements, Inc.

I owe, I owe!

Not as much fun as writing, but I get to fail another generation of students on their inability to string words together.

"We don't need no educashun!"

Y'all have a great day.

Hi Beth & Rick! (still waiting for coffee....)

Morning, gang! No snow here, just rain again.

I really, really want to see sun. Really.

Off to the salt mines...

Hi kb, beth, rick, and maria.

Beth, the next step is to find you a malmutt that likes to ride in cars. :)

Off to the BCROD. :(

Keltoo was a great traveler. I owned a Pathfinder at the time, and he moved from NY to ID with me, snoozing in the back as we crossed the country (via Phoenix). And he loved going swimming, jumping in the truck and THEN shaking furiously.

I drive a sports car now...so I either need a wittle malamutt or a bigger car...

Andi, forgot to say yesterday, great pix.

Taking a break today to run errands and then plunging into the process of converting the alpha draft into a beta.

Have a lovely day!

Aother job for writers, I suppose.

Andi, awww. That's the most handsome photo of Giddy that I've seen.

Hi, kb, beth, maria, and rick. May all of your work days slide as smoothly as a duck on ice.

Kelly, lol. I wonder how Kimberly is this morning. I wonder if she ever got to sleep last night.

Ghost, wow, was THAT not what I expected when I visited that cemetary site. I was expecting gray, spooky, fit for vampires. Or, as I first typed it, yampires. And as I next typed it, wampires.

I did go to sleep. :) I bounced off the walls in my dreams so hard that I woke up at 3:30 am.

My buddy happened to call around then. Yeah, he's a night owl. We talked about writing for about an hour before I got up to do laundry and work on my local writing chapter's bylaws.

So, yes, I'm still a bit hypo-manic, but bylaws will take the springiness right out of one's step.

Hugs,
Kimber

P.S. GREAT picture today.

Hey hey all…

I gave the parental units a call last night, just to see how they're doing. Dad's house-sitting for a friend of his across the lake, and requested a CD of any pix I have of his house (before the fire). Mom is doing her VITA thing again this year, and is so swamped with other peoples' taxes that she (like me) hasn't gotten to her own yet.

Andi, are you still in StL? Nice pic, by the way. The Pack looks like they like winter. I guess by now, they're the only ones.

Hey Rick, you got you a job? Great!!!

Beth, Mrs. Fetched's Pathfinder is in the car hospital. I think it needs an alternator transplant. You really don't want a bigger car though… Mrs. Fetched said they were talking about $4/gal gas by mid-April.

KB, coffee is served!

Kelly, Kimber, congrats again. Looks like y'all have settled down a little bit. I used to get like that when I had the Manual From Hell, which regularly involved people from Australia to Ireland. I'd get a bit wild-eyed toward the end of an update.

Ghost, that's cool! I want my tombstone to be colorful like those.

Oh, and Nancy! How's your writing going? Or are you still officially disappeared?

Kimberly Frost said...

Hey, everyone. Hope the afternoon is going well.

Far -Thanks for the congrats. What's the Manual From Hell?

AndiF said...

Yep Far, I'm still in St. Louis (won't be home till Thursday night) but I'm out of the BCROD for the day and going to have Indian food with MaryB tonight so until tomorrow morning, it's all good.

Afternoon all.

Hi all. It is raining heavily here but I suppose that it's better than a foot of snow. Thanks for the photo andi.

Larry Kollar said...

Heh, we've got snow flurries here, Boran!

Kimber, the Manual From Hell was (is) for a CMTS — a box that sits at the cable company & talks to the cable modems. It's like a specialized bridge (or router) between the cable modems & the rest of the world. It wasn't the manual or the product itself that made it the Manual From Hell, it was the Irish engineers that would throw wrenches and curveballs, like killing the approval process for trivia.

Andi, get some extra hot curry for me while you're eating (if you haven't already finished)… I'm getting a sore throat & need something to torch out my sinuses.

Morning all.

Great food, great people, great talk ... lovely evening. Made yesterday's BCROD worth it. Now I just need a reward for today's.

Ah, FAR, you bring back memories. My first tech writing job was to write training manuals/tech guides for installation of the hotel movie systems. I worked for the company that made them at the time.

Most of my battles were done with the engineers - great guys all, but communicating in standard speak was not their forte! Basically, I was a translator.

I think I prefer writing fiction. ::g::

Cheers.

Kimberly Frost said...

Morning people,

Kb- I brought an extra cup of hazelnut coffee for you today. Hope you like hazelnuts. No sugar for me either in this cup. Boy it smells good.

Far- our cable is half Irish? Who knew? I learn something new on this loop everyday.

Maria - I have some friends who are engineers and understand your pain.

Once my friend's husband spent literally forty-five minutes telling me in stunning mathematical detail about the new seatbelt system he'd designed.

I said, "Bottom line, does it save more lives and prevent more injuries?"

After another twenty-minute monologue, the answer was yes.

I thought, "Wow, this is just like that certain class in college where the answer to any question took twenty minutes. Which way to the bathroom? Two diagrams and a discourse on this history of plumbing later..."

Yes, some of us are writers/effective communicators and some of us have other wonderful qualities. ;)

Andif, Rick, Ghost, Kelly, Boran, Fam, and anyone who shows up later, I wish you a great day. :)

Invisible writer whose blog this is, I am wishing you big word counts.

Hugs,
Kimber

Hey all! Fresh bread's in the kitchen!

Maria, I've been doing this kind of thing for over 20 years now. I've been driven all sorts of crazy by engineers, but these guys brought a whole new dimension to it! (Hm. Maybe I can take vengeance in FAR Future somehow.)

Kimber, yes, half Irish! That's why everything on cable makes more sense when you're half drunk!

Good evening all.

So many kids...
so many failing grades.

Kids say the darnedest things, and sometimes they put them into English. Wish I could repeat them here, but then I'd have to kill myself having sworn myself to secrecy.

March on to March and better weather.
