Kansas City Christmas

This is The Country Club Plaza which lights up like. . . .Christmas every year.

It's still ThursEve here in KC. When Thursday officially comes, may it be wonderful for you, whether it's a holiday, or not!

(whisper: we looted Santa's sleigh. Sorry!)

Preeeeeeeeeeetyyyyyy.

We just had, of all things, a thunderstorm here. Well… it is Planet Georgia. Even the weather's insane.

Happy Christmahanukwanzakuh to all, and to all a good night!

Ah, and there was me thinking Kansas City would be log cabins and all! Had a great birthday yesterday slightly tempered this morning by realising that the strange whiff we noticed as we went to bed was actually cat pee where the geriatric one had left a Christmas greeting on the bedclothes - near the foot so we didn't spot it. Oh well - bathos is part of Christmas!

Hope you all have a wonderful day, full of food and free of cat pee!

Morning all.
Happy Holidaypalooza, a day of rest, or anything in between.

The kids are of course still asleep but the animals were up and excited this morning. I think they sense they have presents under the tree. Watch out for catnip balls and squeeky snowmen underfoot.
Grandlizard got crickets and is a happy camper now. Happy lizard is a minimalist idea though.

Nicky--Amidst all the festivities reality does seem to creep in to keep us grounded.
That Christmas Pudding sounds exciting with flames and all.

My cinnamon Monkey bread has risen and should be a tasty treat. David is being enlisted to make egg casserole.
Pie and Dressing are in the frig for later so I'm set.

Think I'll go snag a cup of coffee and read a bit while the rest of the house still sleeps.

A great day to everyone.

Merry Christmas, everbody.

Good morning Nancy, Farf, Nicola, Lisa.

Nancy, I thought I'd put up your "traditional" stockings [LINK]. :)

We had an interesting day yesterday it went from a high of 54 down to a low of 18. And since the warm weather was accompanied by hours and hours of rain, we also went from soggy bog to frozen bog.

A very Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating, me and the fat man ate all the sugar cookies already, sorry. Hey what's that aroma? Smells like smoked marmot...

Andi, bless you (my child) for remembering the marmot! (Remember the Marmot.)

Jen, roasted marmot, lol.

Nicola, imo there are few more helpless feelings in the world than the one that accompanies the scent of cat pee.

happylizard--minimalist, lol, Lisa.

Far, what kind of roast beasts are you having today?

Merry Deleted, Comment Deleted!

I was pouting that I don't have a picture that would be good for Christmas to post. But thinking about it, I decided this one is nicely symbolic of Christmas morn (plus it was just about to snow).

Jen, smoked marmot -- never!

Nancy, you could send that deleted comment to the great deleted graveyard where it could celebrate Christmas in good company with all the other terrible typos. ;)

Happy Happy, all! It's warmish here today (in 40s) and I'm spending the day exactly as I want: reading, napping, watching movies (in between calls from parents and sister, no doubt).

My buddy Carla gave me a fabulous kitschy jellyfish mood lamp. It's such a hoot! It will definitely get a place of honor in my office.

Hope everyone spends the day as they wish, with loads of great food, great company and lovely gifts.

I felt bad about deleting Deleted comment just when it was feeling included. . . but I do enjoy the power. Evil Grin.

Maria, I saw a photo of your funny lamp, but couldn't bring it over here. Great gift. :)

Our morning started in a similar vein to Nicola's. We were awakened at precisely seven a.m. by a cat barfing right outside our bedroom door. Merry Catmas!

Merry Christmas Nancy and everyone.

Hope you're having wonderful holidays and they're exactly as you wanted.

Enjoy!

Merry merry, everyone! Family is here, drinks abound, food in the oven, and Santa found me, even in NH! Most of the snow melted with our 50 degree temps and rain last night - but I'm sure there's more on the way.

Wishing everyone a warm, wonderful holiday, spent exactly as you'd want. Lots of love to my blog family -

Happy merry to Beth, Family Man, Kelly, and Boran2, too!

I ate a lot but didn't stuff myself. I can hardly believe my own restraint. Of course, the days' not over yet. (Rubs hands together in gluttonous glee.)

Are you guys--the ones of you who are celebrating Thursday by eating--in a stupor yet?

Good for you, Nancy! I, unfortunately, ate more in the last 24 hours than I have in the last 24 days! Sigh. I spent 2 hours washing dishes, trying to work a few calories off.

Salad starting tomorrow! Hope everyone had a wonderful day.
