I've been awol lately! And I'm not even sure I've got a good excuse for it, lol. I think I've been really busy. Haven't I? Anyway, time as f-l-o-w-n! On the other hand, I do have a lot of christmas shopping done. Oh, and there was that video game I got hooked on.

Hey Nancy (and all who follow)…

I'm not sure this was a good idea, but I had to take the vacation time or lose it. The upshot is, I have a two-week staycation starting after work tomorrow. At least Daughter Dearest will be around to provide some occasional levity. Well, maybe I'll get some writing done too.

I've been busy too -- so I understand. I think I just lost a whole week.

(glancing around guiltily)

Gorgeous blue flower.
I'm stuffed full of food as I've been out to assorted Christmas lunches every day this week! Have managed to avoid turkey so far and was looking forward to a cheese sandwich today - but my nearest and dearest has just suggested a trip out, which will include lunch & I'm too weak-willed to pass it up!

So Nancy what first-person shooter has you mowing down half the population of the earth? ;)

Enjoy the vacation, Farf.

Morning kb and Nicola and all the still-to-arrive folks.

FRIDAY-----Hoooray.

Thanks Nancy, for steering us away from the dark side of gastronomic delicacies.

Andi- I'm wondering what the world is like in that largest drop.
Love the perriwinkle color.

Farf--You and DD enjoy some time together. Hard for some to switch into more relaxed mode. I've gotten much better at it the last year.

Waves to Nicola and KatieB.

I'm headed to our property for a weekend with my best friend. Need girl time away from it all.

Wonderful Weekend to All.

Morning, all! Far, I am soooo jealous of the staycation. I'd love nothing more than 2 weeks off work to write. (paid, of course!).

Busy busy day yesterday and again today. Weather still miserably gloomy/rainy, turning to snow later.

I'm so looking forward to weekend!!

Hope you all have a fsbulous Friday.

Enjoy DD and sitting by the fire, Farf. And the girls' weekend, Lisa. Four Christmas parties this weekend - feels like I never left. Bug almost gone, except for the cough. Making candy today - not really doing any shopping this year.

Off to the beach to check out the waves, after the storm yesterday - but 67 for a high, so no sunbathing. Have a great Friday, everyone!

Hello everyone. :)

Okay, that's really fabulous. Something about the water droplets really appeals to me. Beautiful shot, Andi.

Nancy, I had to pull all games off me computer a couple of years ago and only play stuff on the consoles with Laura.

FarF, sounds lovely. I hope you have a nice time with DD and don't spend too much time in the chicken houses.

KB, glad you're starting to appear on a more regular basis.

{{{Beth,}}} get well, soak up sun, heal.

Nicola, Maria, Lisa, Olivia, and everyone who comes after, Hallloooo. (Can't help but note here that lovely run of polysyllabic women's names all ending in "a." It was pointed out to me a couple of years ago that all of my female novel leads [with the notable exception of Cerice] have "a" names--I blame the Romans.)

Got a head full of goo this morning and am desperately hoping I'm not coming down with something.

The new book is finally starting to feel like a book and not just flailing around with letters. A couple of 2k word days really improves my mood.

Friday!! And a pretty picture with no visible bugs. !!!

I'm way behind on my Christmas shopping and I've been out too much this week too. Holiday party tonight. As I get older I'd be just as happy to go home and watch a movie on TV.

Have a good day everyone.

Loverly pic.

Shopping? Not anywhere near done. :-o

Question for the photogs here. I can't afford an expensive camera. Is there a relatively inexpensive model that you'd recommend? Thanks.

Happy weekend to everyone!!!!!!!

MaryB, it's the bugs you *don't* see that are the problem!

Bono, I beat the heck out of a Canon PowerShot A80 until it expired a couple months ago. The nice thing about it is that it has a full-manual mode, so you can make it do exactly what you want.

I love that flower.

It has been a VERY long day.

Looking forward to the new book, Kelly.

Good night all.

Cool, Boran, hope you find it worth the anticipation.
