Well, it's almost "today"!

Few things are more thrilling than a first book. Wait, is there atually anything more thrilling? Scratches head. Thinks. Babies are nice. Falling in love is nice. Chocolate is nice. World peace is, or would be, lovely.

But a first published novel. . .

Heaven on a shelf.

So proud of you, Kimber!

What Nancy said, there's nothing like it.

Brava, Kimber!

Nancy, I was catching up on book blog reading tonight and saw this: A preview of the question you're going to get asked February 17 at the Pittsburgh (KS) public library.

hmmmm. Is telling you this cheating?

Kimber, enjoy the moment

Hi, Kelly. You know what it's like, and the next one, and then next one. . .

Maryb, thank you and lol!
How ya been?

Mazel tov again and again Kimber. Many happy signings. :)

And Janet, I keep meaning to say how great it is to have you back. But now I've remembered to say it. Janet, it's really great to have you back.

Interesting/weird -- the cover of VSOP on the library website isn't either the hardback or the paperback cover. Plus it's not as good as either one of them (and the hardback is far and away the best of the bunch IMHO).

It's 47 out right now! I'm the decider! :D

Morning all.

Morning, all! And yay, Kimber!! You've worked SO hard, and SO deserve this! Wish you were doing a signing in FL...Enjoy the ride.

47? Wow, andi is a season goddess - that's warmer than it is here! Hope everything melts and stays melted. It's 34 right now, heading for 63 (yay). Watching the sun rise over the wetlands outside my bedroom window - I can almost imagine I'm living out in the woods.

Better get back to unpacking. With a quick break to check out the farmer's market later. Have a glorious Saturday, everyone!

Yay for Kimber!!

Agreeing with Nancy, there is *nothing* like seeing your first book, it's a rush better than chocolate.

I'm off to the hair salon in a bit, then back home for a writingpalooza day.

Got new glasses last night (yippee!) and a fabulous purple iPod nano.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Andi, that's the Brit version cover.

Beth, it's nice to think of you IN YOUR OWN PLACE in Florida again.

Maria, a purple ipod, cool. I am an ipod virgin still. How many songs can you get on a nano? Does it do any other tricks?

Morning All

First book published--Kimber
State selects your book to read-Nancy
Book gets picked up by Pocketbooks-Maria (gadget queen)
Agent likes latest book-Nicky
Writing,writing, writing-Farf and Kelly
New Home-Beth
Season Decider skills improving-Andi

Plenty of great things going on with this group.

Lowly writer kitty pecks at keys in corner trying to figure out what the heck this second book is going to be all about. Suspense, thriller?? Deep breath and blunders on.

Sensational Saturday to All.

Congratulations Kimberly! I love that cover!

Kimber, on behalf of the published authors collective I'd like to offer you a key to the clubhouse.

Unfortunately, some guy named Samuel Clemens lost the only copy ages ago and now it's a password system. I'd tell you what it is but nobody told me. Apparently you don't get it until you've had your first godawful copyedit or cover disaster. In fact, no one will even tell me where it is. So anyway, there may or not be a super-secret clubhouse, but I haven't found it yet:-(

Welcome to the crazy-go-round, there's no ride like it and you couldn't pay me enough to get off.

I'll see you later my sweetie, and your little dogs, too.

Congrats, Kimberly. Way cool.

Happy Saturday melt the snow day to all.

Congrats, Kimber! I wish I could be in Michigan at your signing — especially with this pawing around the manor (ironically, smaller shots make it easier to see). I think I’m going to get a copy & stick it in Mrs. Fetched’s reading stack to see if she notices. ;-)

Nancy, I got the 16GB iPod so I can carry it in my car. It'll hold ~4,000 songs. I must admit that this is my 3rd active iPod. I have others that I use. :)

Lisa - per your question - I could cheerfully skip Oprah (mostly b/c I dislike her show) but I'd love to be able to comfortably be able to quit my day job and have plenty of $$ to write fulltime, carry decent health insurance and still be able to afford a nice home and my fun gadgets. :)

Being on the NYT bestseller list would be tres cool, too!

Janet, pie-in-the-sky I'd love to be running low to mid six figure advances and publishing two or three books a year, but I don't have a huge desire to go much higher up the feeding chain than that. I know a couple of real rockstar writers well enough to see how stressful things start to get much above that point.

Maria, I don't watch Oprah, or TV for that matter, either. :)

I know a lady who was on the best sellers list and it freaked me out because I personally think her books are formulaic and... well, I think it's crap. The Carpathian Goth Romance novels she spews out left and right. Ew. I worked with her daughter down in Calif.

Know what you mean KMc about the added BS of being "BIG". But it would be nice to write what you love doing as your job title on your taxes. :)

Kelly, Janet, I wouldn't mind trading the stress I have now for stress of a rock-star writer… as long as the other stuff came with it!

Nancy, I could think of something about as thrilling as a first book… then again, I *would*.
