New week

We've been too long without an Andif photo. Here's a lovely one for Monday.

I'm loving being able to post my own snapshots, but I don't ever want to get too far away from the Real Stuff. Thanks for all of it, Andi.

Hey, your stuff is just as Real mine ... though it might lack some barking up the right trees.

And lots of trees -- but bark without barking -- in the for the Monday Picture Post.

Morning all.

Nancy, Thank you for bringing me back to nature. Zen is good.

Andi--BEUTFUL. I keep thinking you'll run out of good shots and then BAM more great ones. I'm ready for the jigsaw puzzle. My family did those when I was a kid and my daughter likes to do them now. That picture would be perfect.

Marvelous Monday for ALL.

How did it get to be Monday so quickly?

Fall is definitely in the air. I woke up to a chilly apartment (35 outside).

Whee! I can wear sweaters out!!

(can you tell it's my favorite season?)

Andi, I'm snagging the various photos to use on my desktop. :)

Hope everyone has a fabulous week.

Mornin'!

Andi, it looks like you're having a more vivid color season than we are so far. Then again, it can be mid-November before we peak here some years.

Maria, we started up the fireplace insert last night. It was nice until we got a really bad backpuff & then we had to open the front door & blow the smoke out with a fan. Grr. Shoulda called the chimney sweep before now. Anyway, I have a sweater on too… one of the really nice golf sweaters that Wicked Stepfather gave me a while back.

Well… need to go play in traffic. A new FAR Future is up & waiting for everyone. Will duck back in later if I get a chance.

The Fall is here in Portland, too. We're officially starting the food/money drives for the season of hunger.

My work sponsors the Food Bank and Loaves and Fishes ALL YEAR round. We actually get paid our hourly wage to volunteer doing Meals on Wheels.

The Farm Bill which should have been called the Food Bill that was canned a few months ago impacted the food banks and WIC. So these drives are more important than ever.

Morning didn't start off too well.

I crunched the car, a Civic Farf :)) into the garage door. Which meant I couldn't get out. So Danni was late for school and had to call my husband to come home.

It took a well placed kick and he got it fixed. When we bought this place the door had a small dent in it. Well I fixed that sucker. Can't even SEE the small dent anymore.

Oh and Danni's team won first place again in Vancouver competition and they swept all the high awards. But... she was hurt during warm ups and has a goose egg plus a cut from the weighted flag. She hit herself with sixty penny roll. Slight concussion. The coach didn't realize it till right before they were to march onto the field for finals.

Here's a link to her schools guard program. these kids work 5-6 days a week after school and on weekends. During the summer they work 10-11 hour days 6 days a week. It's brutal.

Off to get my haircut... hopefully that turns out better than the rest of the morning ;)

Asta!

Forgot to mention, Danni competed anyways. She didn't want to let the team down.

We didnt' know till after the entire thing was over.

Afterwards, they got a nurse to her and a BOY... a trumpet player, sat with her during the ceremonies. ACK!

Oops here's the final in Vancouver. Danni is the umbrella on the left side of the 30 yrd line. For a brief spell then she's all over.

Hey all, crazed still, though the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching fast. Maybe another week on the book and I can set it down for a bit.

Mary, I'll try to put together my thoughts on the differences between Festival and SF cons sometime soonish. However, if I forget due to crazedness and you're still interested feel free to administer a poke.

TTFN to everybody. Must go back to the book to catch up for time lost to the fun of the festival.

Hi everyone. Back home after a productive weekend helping my friends. Beautiful drive - lots of fall colors. Gray and damp in CDA today. Doing laundry and trying to get myself back on track. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to write...

Have a good weekend, everyone. Welcome home, Nancy!

Janet, your daughter sounds like a real trooper! I'll try to have a look at the video tonight since they block it at work.

Hey Beth! About to jump back in the writing saddle is a Good Thing. Many thousands of words that don't need editing to you!

In the "bleah" department: Daughter Dearest got mono from school... not sure what that means for her studies, but it definitely means she'll be home a little longer.

As for me, I managed to get back into my FAR Future writing rhythm at lunch today, for the first time in a couple of weeks. Felt good!

Nicely done, Andi.

We had temps in the 30s here this morning! It was c-c-cold! And it will be this way for a while. Ugh.

I've finished the current painting, a happy byproduct of cold outdoor weather.
